Wendy Close knows the Yukon well, and she’s looking forward to getting to know you too and help you find the home you’re dreaming of.

Wendy has lived in the Yukon since 1983, first in Watson Lake and then Whitehorse. She and her husband, fourth-generation Yukoner Frank Close, raised their three sons in the Yukon.

A skilled, dedicated educator and communicator, Wendy spent more than three decades helping children and families through her work as a teacher and principal in Yukon elementary and secondary schools, and the Teen Parent Centre. She has worked at Watson Lake Secondary School in Watson Lake, Selkirk Elementary School, and FH Collins Secondary School (including the Teen Parent Centre) in the Riverdale area of Whitehorse and, as principal, led the team of educators at Golden Horn Elementary School for 10 years, before retiring from teaching.

Wendy obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Victoria and her Master’s degree in Education (Mathematics) from Simon Fraser University. With a wealth of experience as a teacher, community volunteer, and parent, Wendy is eager to put her energy, knowledge, and education to work for you, to find the home that best suits your current and future needs.

Wendy’s approach is collaborative. She wants to learn more about you and your family, your goals, and what matters most for you in a home.

“I spent 35 years working in education, where I was privileged to be entrusted with the care, safety, and education of young Yukoners. Now, I am excited to be taking on another role that can make such a difference in the lives of Yukoners and their families by finding a home that meets their needs, which allows them to grow and flourish, and helps them find their place in our community. I think the best way to do that is to spend time with my clients and ensure I understand what is most important to them.”
