Downtown

Downtown Whitehorse is really the hub of the Yukon’s capital city. A combination of historical homes and more modern homes and condos exist side by side. The downtown core is home to a number of grocery stores and convenience stores, and you will never be too far away from one of the many hair salons, barbershops, and beauty salons. Sitting in a valley, the Wilderness City is surrounded by mountains, with the Millennium Trail running alongside the Yukon River – the perfect setting for enjoying a day at Shipyards Park or Rotary Park – or any of the other smaller parks located in downtown Whitehorse. The amenities downtown include numerous restaurants, major bank chains, museums, and places of worship. There is a large selection of professional services including lawyers, accountants, medical clinics, and therapists. And of course, the options for retail are vast, ranging from the small Mom & Pop to the big box stores.
